Skylite Station Gallery, Music Venue and Courtyard has transformed the 910 Arts Complex into a mecca for the performing and visual arts on Santa Fe Drive in the center of Denver's Arts District.
On the Stage in October
THIRD FRIDAY!!! This Friday, October 17 French Nilla and the Decaf Muchacho take over Skylite's stage for an evening of wall to wall fun music. Come down and check out the "Best of Arts District- Santa Fe" up on Skylite's walls until November 8. That is, if you have enough time to do so between dancing and socializing.!
On Saturday, October 11, Maria Vazquez holds her final performance at Skylite accompanied by her students. A student and graduate of the Conservatory of Dance Flamenco school in Sevilla Spain, and having performed internationally with World famous Flamenco ensembles, Maria is moving from her long time home at 910 Arts for Lower Broadway (Thankfully, Denver will still have her). Power, beauty, mystery and tradition flow and clash all at once in Flamenco. Come for the history....stay for the heat........The evening starts at 7:30 pm.
. Admission is $10.00

On the Stage in September
FRIDAY the 26th of September 2014 begins a new series of Open Mic Nights at Skylite. Come down to the best venue in Denver for open mic where the next big thing (s) doesn't have to compete with people eating their bloody dinner for your attention. Best sound too....by and for musicians. Come to check out Denver's best singers/songwriters/musicians before you have to shell out $75.00 to see them when they headline at Red Rocks. Viewed that way, you can consider this an investment in your future as well....you'd be crazy not to. Festivities commence at 6pm and continue unabated until 8pm. There is a suggested donation of $3.00 at the door.
And then there were two.....this First Friday, September 5, 2014, join the Skyliters, the house band of Skylite Station for their final performance with the great Sam DiSiato on lead vocals and frighteningly competent percussion. We are losing Sam to the benighted suburbs of Phoenix Arizona.....this is a sad time. The Skyliters will, however, soldier on with a new line-up that will shake the foundations of the civilized world (or at least rattle the teeth of our neighbors at 910 Arts). We have put in a request to the NSA to keep tabs on Sam so that we can be notified when he strays into our territory and we can force him to sit in with us. If he doesn't, well, we might just have to release certain photographs we are on possession of..... Just sayin....
The Gallery plays host to the "Best of Santa Fe" Arts Exhibit 2013-2014 in conjunction with the prestigious Niza Knoll Gallery at 915 Santa Fe Drive, right across the street from Skylite. The show runs until November 9, 2014 and represents all the visual arts and (new this year) movement, spoken word and music. The winners of the new categories are going to be performing their winning works at Skylite on Friday October 3, 2014 beginning at 6pm. Admission is free. Come and be amazed.
On October 5, 2014 open rehearsals are held by VISIONBOX for American Contemporary Family Drama. This is an all day affair starting at 12pm and going until 8pm. October 26 finds the Young Conservatory in session from 6-8pm and coming in November (16) is another open rehearsal covering Classical American Realism. This session begins at 6pm. These are open to the public and are all free.
